Recipes of
Sweet Sounds

What stories do recipes tell?

Embedded in recipes are cultures, indigenous ingredients, seasonings and mostly importantly, stories. Celebrating all things local, Recipes for Sweet Sounds is a 20-minute performance done in the style of a cooking show. Using music-making as a way to share and interpret these stories; cookbooks of old are unearthed, served with a side of sweet sounds.

Strangers Meet

Who will you encounter today?
On Keong Siak Street?

Paired with a stranger, respond to instructions given over headphones. Take on characters and be lead into the past of Keong Saik Street.

Inspired by the social history of the site, Strangers Meet explores different modes of communication between strangers. Set in a public space as part of street activation, it aims to create the feeling of togetherness amongst a faceless crowd.
